The Bayport plant: hydrocarbon solvents « made in USA »
The Bayport HDA plant is a “specialties refinery”: it produces a wide range of high value-added hydrocarbon fluids. It implements state-of-the-art technology and operates non-stop (24/7).
The production process is broken down into two major stages:
- High pressure hydrogenation which completely saturates aromatic molecules and produces products with very high purity
- Narrow-cut distillation that delivers fluids tailored to client requirements in terms of flash point, viscosity, pour point and solvency power
More than 40 specialty hydrocarbon fluids are produced by the Bayport HDA facility. These products are used across a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to, mining, drilling and fracking, crop protection, water treatment, printing inks, paints and coatings, and cosmetics.
The Bayport plant is ISO14001 and ISO9001 certified through Baystar.
From procurement to shipping
Our production plant processes highly refined hydrocarbons of which some are sourced from TotalEnergies' US refinery at Port Arthur. Feedstocks are transported to the facility by barge, and finished products are then shipped to our customers:
- By road
- By sea
- By rail
